Job Title: After School Care Teacher in our Mixed Age Kindergarten Licensed Facility

Job Classification Non-exempt. hourly, Part time
Summary The ASC Teacher participates in all aspects of the ASC program work, including
managing, preparing and oversight of afternoon activities and the supervision of children during
regular ASC hours, supervision of independent play, preparing snack, housekeeping and hand work
support and duties, helping the children to clean and tidy the classroom and/or yard, child observation
and regular mentoring with EC Faculty.

Supervisory Responsibilities none
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
● Implement the Waldorf Curriculum as mentored by the EC Faculty, which may include but is
not limited to the following: holding an awareness of seasonal rhythms and curriculum
reflective of the EC classrooms, maintains classroom/yard cleanliness and order; supervise
outdoor activities.
● Support Assistants; Stepping in to give time for breaks and lunches as needed in EC
classrooms.
● Attend EC faculty mentoring for the last hour of EC mentoring as well as Friday meetings for
the first hour. Willing to attend one or more early childhood courses a year.
● On Call EC Sub- Ability to hold the curriculum rhythm of the day when asked to sub within
any and all early childhood classes.
● Plans after school snack preparation, making accommodations for food allergies
● Maintain a regularly scheduled snack mentoring with the EC Lead Assistant as well as on the
job practical food handling training.
● Implementation of preventive and proactive measures to ensure the children’s location and
safety at all times.
● Ensures continuity of the signing out of children by a parent.

Food preparation for a large group of children
Required Education and experience:
6 core units of early childhood education and enrolled in at least two semester units at a college until
fully qualified with 12 core units of coursework in early childhood education or child development; at
least one course must be in each of the following:
Child, family, community, or child/family relations
Programs/curriculum
Child/human growth and development
ASC PM Teacher must pass, FBI and Child Abuse Reference Check (CAIC ) Fingerprinting clearance
through Live Scan
Desired Education and Experience:
Minimum one year of ASC experience with SWS.

Time and wage, weeks/year
Base wage $20 – $25 per hour
This position runs the duration of the school year, (end of August through mid June) excluding
seasonal breaks and holidays, 10:30 – 5:30, 23-36 hours per week, including time for mentoring and
Faculty meetings.
