Brandy Hinkel began her career at Sierra Waldorf School in 2001 as a kindergarten assistant in the Moss Rose kindergarten. She joined the Red Rose as assistant again in 2011. In 2013 Brandy became the lead teacher of the Red Rose kindergarten and is now currently the lead teacher for the Red Rose TK program. Brandy completed her Waldorf teacher certification through Rudolph Steiner college and is an accredited ECE lead teacher and director.

AnnMarie Black is the White Rose Kindergarten Teacher. AnnMarie grew up in Long Beach California and earned her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from California State University Long Beach. She taught at a small pioneering Waldorf school for three years before joining Sierra Waldorf School in the Fall of 2016.  AnnMarie brings warmth and enthusiasm to the Waldorf kindergarten curriculum.  She believes wholeheartedly in the magic of song, play, and baking bread.

Kamryn’s interest in Waldorf Education grew out of a need for her two children to be schooled in an environment that honored their growth and development as whole human beings. She studied International Relations and Economics at the University of Souther California; Early Childhood Special Education at SF State and City College of San Francisco; and strives to be learning something new all the time.
Julie Orth

Julie graduated from Humboldt State University with a BA in Anthropology and minor in Spanish, a MA in Sociology with emphasis on Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a California State Teaching Credential in Social Studies.  She studied in China for a semester and has traveled to Europe, throughout Central America, and much of the US. Her hobbies include international folk dancing and singing and beekeeping. This is her 17th year teaching and her 10th year at SWS.
Jennifer Reggiardo

Jennifer started her teaching career in the Bay Area, where she worked in a number of urban public school settings. She found and fell in love with Waldorf education when her family moved to Tuolumne County five years ago. She holds a Bachelors in English, a California Multiple Subject teaching credential and a Lifeways certificate in Waldorf early childhood education. When she is not teaching, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, writing, and knitting.
Jessica Robertson

Jessica graduated from the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training in 2016. She has held the positions of Director of After School Care and classroom assistant for many years before taking her first class in 2015. She and her husband have two children, one of whom is in the grades at SWS, and the other is soon on her way.

Rory Thompson began working at Sierra Waldorf School as an Administrative Assistant and Aftercare Director in 2014. Inspired by the artistic curriculum and spirit of the community, she began to work towards a teaching certificate and is a recent graduate from the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training. When school is not in session, she can often be found on a road trip, camping, kayaking, and biking with her daughter and husband.

Jennifer Aguirre
Jennifer AguirrePuppetry Teacher
Jennifer’s interest in puppetry was inspired at an early age, leading her to create her own puppet shows by the age of 12.
Her interest in puppetry continued into young adulthood and came to full inspiration when she saw her firs Waldorf puppet show. The beauty of the Waldorf puppetry led Jennifer to explore puppetry for her own young family and quickly grew to being shared with wider audiences. One inspiration led to another an a Waldorf puppetry curriculum was created in a formal capacity in 1998 at the Sierra Waldorf School and continues to this day.
Makena Clark

Makena is a professional violinist who enjoys playing in orchestras across Northern California and Nevada. She is also an advocate for music education, and believes that music allows children to develop sensitivity, persistence and discipline. She recently completed her Masters degree in violin performance and decided to return to beautiful Tuolumne County, where she can be found backpacking, hiking and skiing in the Sierra.

After marrying Tom in 2004, I moved to USA to start a family. I love children and it has been my privilege and blessing to being able to share my language and culture with the children of SWS since 2005.
