Job Title: After School Caregiver 

Job Classification: Non-exempt, part-time, hourly 

Summary: 

Sierra Waldorf School was established in 1989 and has an Early Childhood program through 8th grade. Our program takes a holistic and developmentally appropriate approach to education. This position runs the duration of the school year, 8-25 hours per week including time for mentoring and training. All new hires would need to learn and utilize Waldorf Educational practices. This position includes fingerprinting, background checks, and a TB test are required before hire.. 

Reports to: After School Care Director 

Supervisory Responsibilities: none 

Duties/responsibilities: 

When required, duties in the program may include the following tasks: 

Watch and observe children 

Maintain a safe environment 

Checking children in and out of program 

Creating, and preparing age appropriate activities, and crafts 

Preparing inside and/or outside area for snack 

Maintaining healthy and appropriate rules and guidelines to keep children safe 

Maintaining healthy communication with children, staff, parents and teachers 

Attend weekly staff meetings 

Wear appropriate clothing 

Classroom sanitation 

Assist in closing duties and/or completing closing duties 

Maintaining appropriate ratios of children to caregiver 

Maintaining safety of children, staff and families.

Education and experience: 

Experience working with and supervising children. 

ECE units preferred 

CPR and Mandated reporter certification ( Provided by the school) 

Physical requirements: 

The ability to lift 50lbs. 

The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. 

The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. 

Ability to work outside in hot, windy and or cold, rainy weather. 

The ability to physically run and move swiftly to maintain safety

Part time during the school year and part-time summer hours 

Compensation and benefits 

$17.50 – 20.50 hour DOE
