Situated in the beautiful, sunny Sierra Nevada foothills, Sierra Waldorf School is fully accredited by AWSNA, serving approximately 127 students from Nursery through Eighth Grade. The rising first grade is approximately twelve students from a deeply dedicated parent group. We offer many rich programs, including Puppetry, Choir, Gardening, Spanish, Movement Education, and Woodworking. Our rural campus is nestled in the historic Rawhide Valley, within a short drive to Yosemite National Park, many State parks and local hiking trails. The ideal candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree and completed Waldorf teacher training.

Purpose and Scope of Job: The grades class teacher is responsible for planning the daily, weekly and block rhythms of the year. These plans are developed in accordance with the principles of Waldorf pedagogy and in light of the needs of the class. The grades class teacher is also responsible for deepening their understanding of Anthroposophy, child development, and seeking out new materials for their teaching. Teachers commit to faculty responsibilities, including participation in weekly faculty meetings, grades mentoring group, and committee service.
